A visit is a series of page views from one user within a session on a website's desktop and mobile web pages. Figures are estimates, not official numbers.
Competition from Gemini, Claude and DeepSeek, plus Google's AI Overviews answering many queries directly, have split the previous near-monopoly. Its share fell from ~73% a year ago to ~41-56% of AI web traffic, depending on the metric.
Most Meta AI usage happens inside WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook apps, which is not counted in web-visit estimates. The same applies to Copilot inside Windows and Office.
Almost every tool on the list offers a free tier (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Canva, Perplexity and others), with paid plans for higher limits and extra features.
Match by category first: chatbots for conversation and writing, image tools for visuals, detectors for verification, code tools for development. Then compare free tiers and check current trends before committing.
